The Saipa supply chain

The traceability of Saipa products:
a guarantee of quality and wholesomeness

Saipa's supply chain is the key guarantee to the overall quality and wholesomeness of its products. Traceability starts with the controlled production of the animal feeds, but also covers the farms (of pigs, cows and chickens), the slaughter and processing of the various meats and, last but not least, the sale of the end product, with a widespread and efficient distribution network throughout Italy. It is a very short supply chain, not least because the animal feeds are taken to the farms with our own vehicles
All those working in Saipa's various sectors use their professionalism and care to ensure the products are made well and safely, and their end goal involves guaranteeing respect for the consumer throughout.

The pork supply chain

This is a closed-cycle supply chain: after the sows have been fertilised and the piglets are born in the sow pens, the piglets are taken to the fattening pens in the Macerata and Ascoli Piceno areas and are only fed OGM free feeds. The adult pigs are butchered and sold in the sales points within the "La Cisterna" farming cooperative, which also supplies the fresh meat used for producing Saipa salami and ham.

The beef supply chain

The calves are bought and fattened using OGM free, own-produced feeds, and are later butchered and sold by the "La Cisterna" farming cooperative.

The chicken supply chain

The chicks are purchased and free-range farmed using our own OGM free feeds. Cockerels, organic chickens and exclusively organic turkeys are also reared; all are butchered and sold by the "La Cisterna" farm cooperative.
